Train a child up in the way he should go...

Thank you for visiting Zion-St. John Lutheran School of Paullina, Iowa.  Our school is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and provides a Christ-centered educational program which ministers to the spiritual and academic needs of each student.

This year, our theme for the school year is from the biblical passage found in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through he who strengthens me".  We need to remember that God has equipped us to take the message of Christ's salvation to all.  Our life of faith and dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ, throught the Holy Spirit, gives us the needed strength and power to take our stand against the evils of this world.

Please pray that God blesses this new school year, and that this school would serve Him in the surrounding communities.

Hello!

What a beautiful week! Rake leafing was a little chilly on Tuesday afternoon but if you were working hard like we were you stayed warm.

Memory work WILL be coming home soon, it will be small parts of the songs we will be singing for our Christmas Program.

In Religion we reviewed the story of David and Goliath. It’s a very interesting story so it’s one that we remember from year to year. We measured how tall Goliath was, he really was HUGE, over 9 feet tall! We know that with God on our side anything is possible.

Our new unit in Social Studies is about taking care of the Earth. Some of the new vocabulary words we know are conservation, consumer, producer, crop, ancestor, landform, and natural resource. Next week we will interview a geographer in our textbook.

In Science we continue to talk about the weather but have gone into more specifics. We explored wind this week and actually made a graph to keep track of how many windy days we will have next week.

Snack Schedule
11/9 – Jake
11/10 – Kaleb
11/11 – Sarah
11/12 – Jonah
11/13 - Mikayla
