Train a child up in the way he should go...

Thank you for visiting Zion-St. John Lutheran School of Paullina, Iowa.  Our school is affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, and provides a Christ-centered educational program which ministers to the spiritual and academic needs of each student.

This year, our theme for the school year is from the biblical passage found in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through he who strengthens me".  We need to remember that God has equipped us to take the message of Christ's salvation to all.  Our life of faith and dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ, throught the Holy Spirit, gives us the needed strength and power to take our stand against the evils of this world.

Please pray that God blesses this new school year, and that this school would serve Him in the surrounding communities.

One of the highlights of our week was the finish of the Iditarod.  We have all really enjoyed following the race and learning a lot along the way.  We learned lessons about determination and teamwork.  We also all got a bootie worn by a dog in this year's Iditarod!  They still smell like the dogs and we could see their actual footprints in most of them.  Thank you Charlene for getting these for us.

For health we traveled to United and looked at labels.  We have been studying about eating good foods and eating a balanced diet.  We also enjoyed playing PE with Debra.  She was with us all week observing and teaching some for college. It was great having an extra set of hands in the classroom.

In Religion we have been learning about different significant items that help us remember Christ's Passion.  We used a cross, feather, rock, spear, wash basin and money bag so far.  Can you guess what each represents?  Have a blessed weekend.
